Arts, Humanities and Public Broadcasting

I strongly support the mission of public television and radio programs. As the power of private broadcasting corporations continues to grow, I believe that Congress must work to ensure that Americans have access to independent public media outlets free from political and corporate influence. As a Co-Chair of the Congressional Public Broadcasting Caucus, I recently joined my colleges on the floor of the House of Representatives to speak in support of public broadcasting. Please rest assured that I will continue to work to provide stable, long-term funding for public television and radio.

The National Endowment for the Humanities and National Endowment for the Arts provide funding for a wide variety of projects, ranging from education to art museums, and direct grants to cultural programs of great national significance. As a member of the Congressional Arts Caucus, I believe that the arts and humanities are an essential part of a cultural education, and I have consistently supported both the National Endowment for the Arts (NEA) and the National Endowment for the Humanities (NEH)
