WASHINGTON (April 11, 2006) Congressman Ben Chandler will be in Woodford County on Thursday, April 13, 2006 at 10:30 AM at the Senior Citizens Center. Chandler will be presenting a check for $38,000. The funds will be used by the Senior Citizens Center to purchase a new van to help transport seniors in Woodford County. “I am pleased to have secured this money for the Woodford County Senior Citizens Center,” said Congressman Chandler. “I hope these funds will enhance the lives of seniors and make getting around a little easier.” The van will be used for Meals on Wheels and will transport seniors to necessary errands such as grocery shopping and banking. The van will also be used to take seniors to medical appointments and other essential activities. ####
